Rohatsu commemorates the day in which Buddha reached enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. In Japanese, it literally means “8th Day of the 12th Month”. Traditionally, it is commemorated with a week-long winter sesshin focused on zazen and kinhin.
Due to COVID-19, the format of this year’s sesshin will unsurprisingly take place on Zoom. Our Rohatsu sesshin will take place each day from December 9th to December 13th from 8 am to noon.
This means there will be no evening zazen on Wednesday, December 9th or Saturday program on Saturday the 12th, though everyone is welcome to join us for zazen on that day.
