Reverend Karen DeCotis

Karen DeCotis has been a Zen student since 1986, practicing at Green Dragon Temple/Green Gulch Farm Zen Center and Berkeley Zen Center with Sojun Mel Weitsman.

She joined the Bozeman Zen Group in 2002 and was asked to be their teacher in 2013, where she later helped them, along with other dharma groups, form the Bozeman Dharma Center, which she also led as Director.

She received dharma entrustment in 2003, priest ordination in 2016, and dharma transmission (shiho) in 2019. A San Antonio native, she returned home in 2024 to lead the San Antonio Zen Center as our guiding teacher.
