Diversity Discussion Group

Please join us in an informal discussion on diversity as it is reflected in the world around (and within) us. This group began with the Radical Dharma discussion and readings that began at SAZC in 2017 and we hope to continue growing our awareness of topics that are fundamental to our shared existence. One Saturday per month after the morning program, we will meet from 11:30am to 12:30pm in the kitchen of SAZC and talk about the important issues of diversity and inclusiveness that we aspire to embody in our practice.

This class is offered for people who want to learn Zen meditation. It is taught by one of our senior members and lasts approximately 2 hours. Please plan to arrive early, as we begin promptly at 11:30 and come wearing neutral colored clothing, if possible.

Please sign up by calling 210-257-8383 or emailing info@sanantoniozen.org

Open Sunday Sitting

Open Sunday is a quarterly program for SAZC designed to offer more time for meditation and fellowship.

From 1:00-3:00 pm, the zendo is open for zazen or walking meditation. You can come and go freely at any time during those hours. There is also an opportunity for work practice during that time--there are always jobs small and large that need doing.

Beginner's instruction and prior experience are helpful but not required; a very brief introduction to meditation will be available in the front room if needed.

From 3:00-4:00pm, the entire center is open for tea, conversation, and fellowship for newcomers and members alike. Short tours of the center and grounds will also be offered to anyone in the community who would like to find out more about the center or Soto Zen practice.
